  Service Learning Opportunities at the Conference  
 

In conjunction with the two Educate, Experience, and Enable: 3 E’s of Service Learning workshops, conference attendees will be provided the opportunity to understand service learning by actually participating in a brief service learning project of your own choice.

Below are some examples of the kind of service learning projects that will be available. All of these projects are within walking distance, or a short bus ride, of the Convention Center. They include but aren't limited to:


 
 

Downtown Emergency Service Center - sorting clothing and supplies for homeless

Northwest Harvest - packaging incoming food for distribution to clients

YWCA - working at the Women's Homeless Day Center to prepare/serve
meals, prepare materials and supplies for distribution

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission - serve food to homeless

Dress for Success - sort clothing for professional clothing loan closet

Casa Latina - Day Worker Program, tutoring, cleaning up, assisting with ongoing projects

Giving Tree - making wooden toys for homeless youth
